The heart of Esslingen wine has been beating here for 125 years. For the past five years, it has had a vibrant location on the market square: our wine shop. Two milestones, two chapters of a single, unwavering passion that we would like to share with you. Because true enjoyment never comes alone – it is a celebration to which we cordially invite you.
125 years. A promise in every bottle.
One hundred and twenty-five years is more than just a number. It is a long, steady breath in time with the seasons. It is the knowledge of generations, rooted in the steep slopes above the Neckar River. Since 1899, our name has stood for authentic wines – unadulterated, full of character, a pure expression of this special piece of land.

The community: our teamwork
The name says it all. Teamwork is the modern soul of an ancient idea: the cooperative. It is a powerful community of 50 family businesses, in which everyone lives their destiny. Some find their element in the terraced steep slopes, fighting gravity with their hands and devoting countless hours of care to the vines. Others unfold their skills in the quiet darkness of the cellar, where must is transformed into wine. And still others bring the wine to the people – in tastings, celebrations and conversations.
What connects them all?
The same burning passion for wine. A belief in culture and lifestyle that begins in the glass. The conviction that enjoyment is never superficial, but deeply rooted.
The terroir: the steep slopes of Esslingen – a heroic heritage
Esslingen is a wine town. In the late Middle Ages, it was ‘the measure of all wines’. Even today, the town is inextricably linked to its historic wine-growing landscape. We identify with this town, its walls and, above all, its 20 hectares of terraced steep slopes.
These slopes are more than just exhausting. They are our most precious asset. Their special microclimate, the intense sunshine on the southern slopes of the Neckar Valley and the barren, permeable soils give the grapes an incomparable concentration and minerality. It's not just wine that grows here. Better wine grows here. The work is laborious, manual, almost archaic. Only the idealism of passionate winegrowers keeps this cultural landscape alive. If it weren't for our passion, there would soon be nothing but forest here.
The award: Genuine. Simple. Convincing.
We are proud to announce a special honour: on 4 September 2025, our campaign ‘Genuine Württemberger. What else?’ won first place at the German Agricultural Marketing Awards.
The jury praised it as ‘clear, catchy, modern and authentic’. In his laudatory speech, Dr Josef Krapf emphasised: ‘We were impressed by the balance between the seriousness of the message and the humorous texts. The campaign perfectly combines modernity with tradition and reaches its target groups in a credible and authentic way.’
